Food for thought

why do magicians feel the tiresome need to call themselves "artists", call their tricks "effects" and call their sleights their "arsenal"?

Splice

Ok, guys ,

I saw splice and the tutorial for it. My conclusion is it is utter garbage.. absolute pants!
No way anyway can pull this off .. hell even Shin himself cant seem to do the sleight consistently.. I wonder if he ever even performed it? Ofcourse the use of duplicates wasn't because he didn't want the exposure, it was because he can't do the sleight himself consistently (which the tutorial clearly shows).

I think people should stop with putting each brainfart on a DVD and sell it. But that's just me.

In case you want an explanation of the sleight, here goes:

Movie clip

I am having a very busy schedule atm, too busy to blog extensively. Here are some practise movies to keep you all busy. I dont claim it all to be perfect, but it will fly in most games where there is no fast company (street smart people). Enjoy *FPS sucks, cam quality sucks... but i dont give a d*mn! :)

Check out first link, its some sort of a gambling expose!

How to practice dealing deuces...

Guys, dealing 19 consecutive blisters in a row and posting that on Youtube fools no one. Of course the second deal is a hell of a strong card sleight, although i wouldnt consider it a fundamental sleight for neither magicians nor advantage players. A consecutive blisterdeal is useful when a cardgame is played in which a single card can decide an entire game (Hearts comes to mind), while it can be useful for the cardician in effects like CAAN etc. The real key to learning how to deal seconds is by practising how to deal a second at the right time, while never break the rythm of the deal.... it suddenly is much harder to do a second deal isn't it? Well it certainly is more challenging, but also more enjoyable! Try this for the next weeks ( i will post some sessions later):

1. Take the aces and kings out of the pack and shuffle them upside down in the pack. Mix the pack of cards.
2. Google for online metronome (for example http://www.metronomeonline.com ) and put a metronome on at lower speed (start with 75 for example).
3. Start dealing cards according to the rythm, dealing all the face up cards to yourself (as many as you can, according to the position of the cards).
4. Improve BPM speed after mastering one speedsetting
5. Thank me later
6. Make sure to show me the vids so i can appreciate them!

Sincerely , Erd
